I started yesterday out like this…. I put the above picture on Instagram, the caption read “50′s dress for school today:-)” I sat down drank a cup off coffee, took a look at the Wall Street Journal, and then I was off to class. There was nothing out of the ordinary during my lectures, and after my last class, I packed up my backpack, and headed towards the parking lot. While I was walking, I heard a voice from behind me say “how do you walk in those shoes?” Just as I was answering “they’re not that bad.” I felt my feet come out from underneath me. That’s right. I managed to fall right off the sidewalk, in front of the gal who had just asked me “how do you walk in those”. I was humiliated, but playing it “cool.” Several thoughts flooded my mind, “Did that really just happen?”, “Oh no, I fit the stereotypical blonde who cant walk, and talk at the same time.”, “Oh my gosh my knee hurts!”, “How many people just saw that?” I hopped right back up and did not look at my knee. I finished my walk of humiliation and finally made it to the safety of my car. I then took the time to examine my knee and realized my favorite wedges took the brunt of my fall. I had chipped the left toe. By this point I wanted to cuss and cry at the sametime. You’d be proud of me, because I refrained from doing both. I told myself, this will make for a good story, and hopefully sooner than later I could laugh about it. (Not quite there yet.)
Let me just say, this picture does NOT give my injury justice!
Yep that’s gonna bruise.
My poor, poor shoes. They were my favorite pair too! (I admit, I may be acting like somewhat of a drama queen.)
Please, someone out there leave me a comment, and tell me I’m not the only one who has taken a sober fall in public!
